About James S. "Jim" Nowak

Born in Toledo Ohio and raised with his three siblings.  Jim Nowak learned early on the value of hard work, teamwork and perseverance.  His mother was a stay at home mother. His dad an officer on the Toledo Police Department.  His first job was a paperboy for the Toledo Times.

His grade school was St. John the Baptist.  He attended Central Catholic High School. He was active in the music program and a member of his High School Band. After graduation from High School, he attended the University of Toledo and received a Bachelor of Education and was certified to teach Social Studies in High School,  along with music in grades 7 through 12.

Jim worked his way through college.  In addition to a number of summer jobs, he was part of two different businesses: A photo business and a local band.  The photo business did commercial, portrait, and wedding photography.  The band played at weddings, night clubs, and church festivals.  Jim learned early on the value of hard work, teamwork, and perseverance.

After college Jim enrolled at the University of Toledo College of Law.  In 1976 he received the degree of Juris Doctor.  He successfully pasted the Ohio Bar exam in 1976 and the Michigan Bar exam in 1977.  He maintains a practice in the Point Place area of Toledo.

Today in the practice of law, he represents small business and individuals.  His practice is concentrated in business, real estate, estate planning, elder law and probate.  He has the privilege of serving as Special Counsel to a number of Ohio Attorney Generals including our current Attorney General: Mike DeWine.

He is a past President and current member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  A member of the Old Newsboys.  A past President and Past Secretary of West Toledo Kiwanis.  While a past President, Treasure, and Secretary of the Point Place Business Association, he has the honor of having served the most terms as President.  This year he was honored as the Grand Marshal of the Point Place Days Parade.

Today,  Jim wants to serve as your voice in Columbus.  A voice that echoes your concerns.  A voice that matters.  A voice that cares.
